Ada L. (Hunley) Conaway, a retired restaurant hostess, died Saturday morning at North Penn Hospital, Hatfield after failing in health. She was 79. Mrs. Conaway, of St. Mary Manor, Lansdale, had lived in Blue Bell for 41 years before moving to St. Mary Manor 27 months ago. She had worked from 1956 to 1983 in the Tearoom at the Strawbridge & Clothier department store in Jenkintown. Mrs. Conaway was a longtime member of St. Helena Church, Blue Bell, and was one of the founders of the Montgomery County Horse Show, which is held annually on the church's grounds. She was also a member of the St. Helena Guild and visited families of children to be baptized. Born June 30, 1918, in Roanoke, Va., she was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Mary (Cheatham) Hunley.

Surviving with her husband, George T. Conaway, are a son, G. Timlin Jr. of West Chester, Chester County; two daughters, Georgeanne Muia of Tampa, Fla., and Gail Kilmartin of Alexandria, Va.; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Walter Hunley of Maryland; and two sisters, Myrtle Miller and Aileen Christopher, both of Maryland. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Tutlow and Ethel Beahm; and a brother, Louis Hunley.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 A.M. Wednesday in the Chapel at St. Mary's Manor, 701 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Friends may call from 9:15 to 10 A.M. Wednesday at the chapel and from 7 to 9 P.M. tomorrow at the Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home, 532 E. Main St., Lansdale. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Manor, 701 Lansdale Ave., Lansdale, Pennsylvania 19446.
