A native and lifelong resident of Aiken, Mrs. Clark was a daughter of the late John Fredrick and Nancy Elizabeth Higgingbottom Herron.
She was a member of South Aiken Presbyterian Church, where she served as elder, church historian and former president of Women of the Church. She was the church secretary for more than 20 years and published the church's newsletter "South Aiken Aims" for the last 39 years. She was the president of the VFW Post No. 5877 Ladies Auxiliary, a position she held several times, and she was also very active in the Aiken community.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Tarrel J. Clark; a daughter and son-in-law, Delora and Dana Simmons of Aiken; a daughter-in-law Debra Clark of Soperton, GA; four sisters, Myrtis H. Johnson, Barbara H. Britt, Lottie H. Snipes and Mary Ann H. Lynes; four brothers, Grady Elijah Herron, Owen Fredrick Herron and Heber T. Herron, all of Aiken and John Joseph Burts Herron of Joanna; three granddaughters, April Braddy, Noelle Kelley and Lauren Thompson; and her beloved pet, Maddie.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Ray Clark and two brothers, Dalton Collins Herron and Robert L. Herron.
