OBITUARY-
AARON HADFIELD
Died Dec 1, 1914, Brownsville, Burr Oak Twp, Mitchell County, Iowa. Farmer and Land owner for almost 50 years in Brownsville. Aaron and his wife Eliza (Cooper) came to the area in 1869 with their son Arthur, and several children of his previous marriage to Elizabeth Darbyshire, who died in January 1866 in Waukesha Wisconsin.

Aaron was born in New Mills, Derbyshire, England, 27 May 1819, to John and Ellen (Rangeley) Hadfield. Aaron and Elizabeth and his family, followed other members of the family and had immigrated to Wisconsin from England in 1842. From there his siblings and their children branched out to Iowa, Dakota Territories, Nebraska, Colorado and Washington States.

Aaron Hadfield was preceded in death by his wife Eliza Cooper who was buried in the Brownville cemetery on Feb 27, 1899. Mr. Hadfield was a well known major farmer in Brownsville. He was a very active and strong man, and will be missed by all. Survivors include children of the first marriage, James Henry of Seattle, Rangley of Fullerton, Nebraska, Elizabeth (Orr) of Murdo, South Dakota and Harriet (French) of Osage, Iowa. Also three sons and
two daughters of Eliza Cooper, Arthur Guy of Washington, Bert of Canada, Clifford of Glenburn, N.D., Maude (Markham) of Osage, and Miss Mertie Hadfield of Brownville who has kept the family home since her mothers death.
Also there are thirty grandchildren and thirty-five great-grandchildren.

Funeral was held from the Methodist church at Brownville, Dec 4, 1914, the pastor Rev L. O. Thompson, officiating. Burial was in the Brownville Cemetery.

Elizann HADFIELD was born 29 Nov 1849 in Waukesha, Waukesha, WI, US. She died 29 Nov 1849 in Waukesha, Waukesha, WI, US.

Abner Derbyshire HADFIELD was born 13 Jan 1851 and died 1884.

James Henry HADFIELD was born 20 Apr 1853 and died 27 Dec 1926.

Harriette HADFIELD was born 25 Apr 1855 and died 1935.

Elizabeth Mae HADFIELD was born 15 Jun 1857 and died 21 Apr 1930.

Aaron Rangley HADFIELD was born 3 Apr 1859 and died 1940.

Aaron also married (2) Eliza R. COOPER, daughter of Thomas COOPER and Rehea, on 18 Oct 1866 in Waukesha, Waukesha, WI, US. Eliza was born 14 Feb 1843 in Norfolk, England (11 Or 14 Feb 1843) and was christened 14 Feb 1843 in Norfolk, England (11 Or 14 Feb 1843). She died 26 Feb 1899 in Brownville, Mitchell, IA, US and was buried 1 Mar 1899 in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Burr Oak Twp, Mitchell County, Iowa.
