The 1900 census says that Ella had 4 children with one, My Aunt Elva, living. I have the birth records for 2 male infants born in Madison County. (The birth record index for White County is missing which is why my Aunt and this baby's birth records are unavailable.) That leaves this one unknown baby. My father also told me about 2 more, a boy and a girl that he remembered who died young, so that makes 2 more children lost early.
I'm guessing about when this child was born. Marshall and Ella married in 1894. Aunt Elva was born in October of 1896. In 1898 and 1899 two male infants were born, and then my father in Oct. of 1900. So this child was either born in 1895 or in 1897. My Best guess. The reason I chose the earlier date is because I believe Marshall and Ella were still living in White County and that is why the birth index doesn't have the birth. Once they made the move to Madison County, The births were available in the index.
