She was first married to Lowell W. Hurley in 1922. She had one son, Lowell Jr. That marriage ended in divorce about 1931. She next married Charles M. Love in 1932 who adopted her son, Lowell (Bud) Love. Her husband Charlie died in 1948.
She worked in a beauty salon and as a waitress.
Before I was born she and her sister Elva cared for my grandmother before she died. I was born in Canada at the time of her death and they didn't know how to reach my father. They prayed and my father called them.
When I was growing up she ran a board and care home with her sister Elva first in Los Angeles and later in Pomona, California. She and Aunt Elva always came to our home or us to their home for holidays. I miss both my Aunts very much.
One year I wanted to be a gypsy for Halloween and Aunt Golda made me my costume. For a summer, she taught me to "cook", which consisted of making cakes from mixes.
She wasn't always the easiest person to know and like, but her heart was always in the right place.
When my father had a nearly fatal heart attack she was there to help my mother out with us kids who were 7 and 4 even though she was extremely worried about her brother in the hospital and wished to be there too.
In later years she lived with her sister in a trailer park in Laverne. After her sister Elva's death her health continued to fail and my mother was convinced it wasn't safe for her to continue to live alone. She contacted Aunt Golda's son in Warrensburg and he and his wife Beth took her back to live there until her death.
She had been an active member of the World Wide Church of God She had 3 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
