Funeral services for William Edgar Keltner, 59 years of age, were held Thursday, January 22 at 2 o'clock p.m. from the Campbellsville Methodist Church with the Rev. J. M. Vaughn in charge, assisted by Dr. W. C. Frank. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Mr. Keltner died at his home near town Tuesday, January 20. He had been in declining health for the past several months. His death came as a shock to his family and his many friends. He professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Pickett Chapel Methodist Church in Adair County. He united in marriage to Miss Maggie Lee Beard and to this union 7 children were born. Surviving are: Mrs. Carlie Smith, Clenon and Calvin Keltner, Mrs. Clinton Tharpe, Clyde Keltner, and Miss Katherine Keltner, all of this county. Besides wife and children, he is survived by two brothers and four sisters: Mack Keltner, of Adair County, Clim Keltner of Waverly, Ill., Mrs. Mont Maupin, Mrs. Pleas Edwards, Mrs. Wess Coffee, and Mrs. Bob Rodgers, all of Adair County; four grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. The active pallbearers were: Jimmie Maupin, Morgan Peppers, Ray Keltner, Taft Caffey, Arthur Rodgers, and John C. Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers were: Doc Barnett, Wilbur Weatherford, Alba Goodin, Joe Murrah, Arnold Antle, and Alvie Barnett. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, January 29, 1948
