The death of C. S. Brinkley, of Lauramie township, occurred on Tuesday morning at the family residence neat Stockwell, rheumatism being the cause. He was born in Bath county, Virginia, in 1824, one of a family of seventeen children, all of whom lived to a hale old age. In 1866 he came to Lauramie township. His widow, one son and five daughters survive. The funeral took place at Stockwell this morning. (Lafayette, Indiana, newspaper, Thursday, January 24, 1901)
