Rainer H. Depies, age 87, Neenah died on December 7, 2011. He was born on October 11th, 1924 the son of the late Arthur and Freda Depies. He was a graduate of Hilbert High School. He married Margaret Van Lankfelt on June 20, 1946 in Little Chute, Wisconsin and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Margaret & Rainer traveled and made many friends square dancing after retirement. Rainer was an avid gardener and also spent many hours making beaded rosaries. Rainer was described as a kind man who loved people and always had a cheerful word for anyone he met. Rainer worked in the petroleum industry, first for Depies Oil Company and later as a State of Wisconsin petroleum inspector, retiring in 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret and son Michael (Deborah) Depies of Neenah; two grandsons, Joel (Emily) Depies and Benjamin Depies and one great grandson, Wesley Depies. Rainer is also survived by his brother Gerald (Joyce) Depies, two sisters-in-law, Fran Van Nuland, and Dorothy (Casey) Lamers, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Dorothy Joyce Depies.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert, WI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Hilbert.
