Born in Ruston, LA, to parents Micheal Baughman Gill, Sr. (b: 19 Oct 1874, d: 28 Feb 1946) and Eva Edwina Morrow Gill (b: 16 Sep 1881, d: 16 Nov 1944), he was the second of seven children.

He was known as Mike to most people but M.B. to close friends and family.

Services for Michael B. Gill, 56, a civil engineer for the City of Miami, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at St. Stephens Episcopal Church.

He died Thursday.

Mr. Gill came to Dade County in 1936 from Ruston, La. and lived at 3920 Crawford Ave.

He had been with the city for about 25 years.

Mr. Gill was a member of the Florida Engineer Society, the National Society of Public Administrators, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Society of Military Engineers and the James Carnell Masonic Lodge No. 223 of Miami.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia G.; a son, Michael R; a daughter, Miss Janice M.; all of Miami; and four brothers, William M. of Corpus Christi, Tex.; Benjamin C., of Beaumont, Tex.; Clinton R., of Shreveport, La. and James M., of Baton Rouge, La.
