Leonard R. Murphy

ARCOLA, Ill. — Leonard R. Murphy, 69, of Arcola died at 8:45 a.m. today in Jarman Hospital in Tuscola.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with Rev. Wesley Groff officiating. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 30, 1900, in Newman, the son of Renzo and Clara Tingley Murphy. He married Frances Houchin. She died Aug. 28, 1959.

He is survived by two sons, William of Arcola and Jack of Tuscola; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Gee and Mrs. Jane Ernst, both of Arcola; one brother, Floyd of Arcola; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Murphy was a retired farmer and mechanic. He was a member of the Arcola Christian Church, Masonic Lodge and Arcola volunteer fire department.
