He was employed with Reed Industries, Victor Products Division for 26 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 1936 and vice president of the Hagerstown Braves Baseball Association.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Alder Brashears, two daughters, Kathy Brashears and Diane Melott, both of Hagerstown; son, Michael Brashears, Hagerstown; four brothers, Preston Crampton, Boonsboro; Roger Brashears, Washington, DC; James Brashears, Shepherdstown, WV; and Marvin Brashears, Hagerstown; and two grandsons.
Services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home; burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery.
