CECIL S. ARCHER
Cecil S. Archer of Princeton, age 69, died Tuesday afternoon, April 13, in St. Mary's Hospital at Evansville. He was born in Parke County, June 15, 1912, the son of Arizona and Janie Wright Archer. December 31, 1932, he married Hila V. Bemis, who survives. He was employed by Peabody Coal Company and lived in Carbon until 1964, when he was transferred to Kentucky and later to Princeton. He was a member of United Mine Workers.
Also surviving are three daughters, Hila Jean Underwood of Princeton, Doris Irene Fagg and Shirley Joan Thomas, both of Brazil; three sons, Kenneth Cecil of Princeton, Jerry Leon of Carbon and Larry Donn of Brazil; a sister, Emma Krider of Carbon; five brothers, Chester, Tom and Richard, all of Brazil, Kenneth of Indianapolis and Gilbert of Carbon; 27 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brazil with REv. Edgar Walls officiating. Burial was in Calcutta Cemetery.
