Shrewsbury William E. Arnold, 79, a retired truck farmer and painter, died Saturday at 8:20 p.m. at his home, this place, where he resided for the past nine years. He formerly lived in the Jacobus area.
The husband of Mrs. Ida M. Lerew Arnold, he was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ and Sunday school and Shrewsbury Fire company.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: Eight children, Carl O. and Stewart E. Arnold, both of Jacobus; Mrs. Kenneth Allison, Hungerford; Mrs. Howard Schaefer, 1408 South Duke street, York; William A. Arnold, York RD 2; Mrs. David Schaefer, 229 Dew Drop road, York; Sterling W. Arnold. Red Lion, and Earl E. Arnold, Seven Valleys RD 2; 28 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, a brother and a sister, James and Almena Arnold, both of York.
His pastor. Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger, will officiate at funeral services tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Hartenstein mortuary, New Freedom. Burial will be in Joseph Giesey Memorial cemetery, here.
