Daughter of Charles Harrison & Catherine (Kate) Coble Fields. Minnie attended the "Normal School" (now known as UNCG) and was a welfare worker for Proximity Manufacturing at White Oak.

Funeral for Miss Minnie Lavinia Fields, who died at her home, 701 Chestnut Street, at 7:30 a.m. Friday following a long illness will be held today at 4 p.m. at Buffalo Presbyterian church and Rev A. P. Dickson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Born in Guilford county, the daughter of the late Charles Harrison and Catherine Coble Fields, Miss Fields had lived in Greensboro most of her life, She was a graduate of the Normal school, Greensboro, and of the state, first at Statesville and later in Guilford county. Later she worked for many years as a social worker for Proximity Manufacturing Company at White Oak.

Miss Fields was a member of Buffalo Presbyterian church and taught in the Sunday school there for a number of years. She was also a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Greensboro.

Surviving are one brother, Charles H. Fields, and a niece, Miss Virginia Fields, both of the home; one sister Mrs. Carl L. Wharton of Greensboro, and a number of nieces and nephews.
