Lester E. Bork, age 93 years, of the Town of Dupont (rural Marion) passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his home.

Lester Emil Bork was born to Robert and Erma (Raasch) Bork on Nov. 2, 1919, on the family farm in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County. The farm was established by Lester's grandfather, William, with whom Lester had a close relationship. Lester was united in marriage on April 28, 1945 to Lavern M. Radtke at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion, and she preceded him in death on December 23, 1981. Lester was married on Sept. 11, 1982 to Doris M. Rindt - Malueg at Zion Lutheran Church, Caroline, and she passed away on Oct. 7, 2004.

He was a lifelong resident of the Town of Dupont where he farmed and always considered himself a public servant. In his early years, he drove milk truck and sold for Dekalb Seed Corn. He started working at the feed mill in Marion and Big Falls, and then went on to managing the Clintonville Elevator from 1970 to 1984. Lester was the first Zoning Administrator for Dupont, serving for 52 years. He is a former Dupont Town Chairman, served with the Waupaca County Board, and was a census taker for two different townships. He also did some land surveying for ASCS crop program in Waupaca County, working both in the field and in the office. Lester was an officer with Green Valley Cheese Factory for 19 years. He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dupont, where he volunteered as church treasurer, worked on numerous church projects, and helped raise countless funds for AAL. His interests included buying and selling antique farm tools and machinery. Lester's other favorite pastimes were cutting firewood, making horse collar mirrors, building benches out of barn board, and transporting Amish neighbors as needed. Lester loved his family, friends, and animals, especially Odin, his cat, who he called "the prodigal son".
