Robert Emil Bork was born on February 27, 1893, in Dupont, Waupaca, Wisconsin, to William and Johanna (Riesenberg). He grew up on the family farm with his sisters: Anna McKay and Bertha Gresen. Robert married Erma Raasch on January 4, 1917. The couple joined his parents on the family farm where they raised their children: Clarence, Lester and Carl.
