NEW ALBANY Louis A. Harned, 71, of 609 E. Ninth St., died Thursday morning at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Grayson County, Ky., and a retired employee of I.C.I. America in Charlestown. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Melton of Jeffersonville, Carolyn Harned of Denver, Colo., and Marilyn Harned of New Orleans, La.; six sisters, Anna Applegate of Clarksville, Elizabeth Hoppes and Christina Miller, both of Jeffersonville, Mary Hoff of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Frances Young of Barberton, Ohio, and Rita Reeves of Akron, Ohio; a brother, Joseph Harned of Louisville; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with burial Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Kraft Funeral Home, after 1 p.m. Friday.
