Amarinda was born in Weston, CT to Hezekiah and Jerusha (Beers) Cole. While a young girl, the family moved to Kent, CT where her father was a farmer. She married a neighbor, Charles Geer in 1837 and they had five children. Possibly she died from complications of childbirth. Amarinda was buried in St. Andrews Episcopal Church Cemetery in Kent Center with no grave identification. Her husband Charles soon remarried. Many years later, her youngest child Helen Amarinda Geer placed a prominent gravestone at her mothers site, where it still stands. This gentle act of kindness is noted on the stone.
