UNION HILL, AL -- Mr. George Dewey Bailey, Sr., 90, of Union Hill died Friday, 8 Sep 1989 at Randolph County Hospital in Roanoke, AL.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. (CDT) Sunday, 10 Sep 1989 at Pleasant Grove Congregational Christian Church in Union Hill with Rev Ralph Worley officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bessie Lou Lashley Bailey of Union Hill, AL; four daughters, Edna Frances Thrower of LaFayette, AL, Nellie Royster of Wadley, AL, Jewel Geneva Earles of Shawmut, AL and Thelma Virginia Fuller of Roanoke, AL; one son, George Dewey Bailey, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Annie Mae Sherman of LaFayette, AL; one brother, Jesse Dalton Bailey of Atlanta, GA; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A native of Chambers County, AL, Mr. Bailey was a member of Pleasant Grove Congregational Christian Church in Union Hill. He was a retired farmer and he and his wife had been married for 70 years and were residents of Union Hill for the past 55 years. Mr. Bailey lived in Chambers County all of his life.
