`*.¸.*´ Thank you so much to all of you who have left flowers and tokens for my great uncle. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.

Clyde was the son of John Wesley Howard and Norma Lee Jenkins Howard. He passed away during his senior year in high school.
He drowned in Big Field,Mo., part of Ste. Genevieve, near the Mississippi River. He was 17 yrs old. Clyde was out fishing on the river when he seen a rabbit and started chasing it through the field. He fell into a pond close to the river and drowned. He did not know how to swim. That is the story that the boys he was with gave the family. Some of the family thought that maybe he was pushed in by the boys.

Side Note: The Big Field (le grand champ) is an agricultural landscape. It is fertile and flat and stretches for miles along the banks of the Mississippi River. It's a floodplain, estimated to be the size of 10,000 acres. This kind of gives you a visual of the landscape where Clyde was fishing.
