Wesley was the oldest child of Ben and Marinda Gregory. He was raised in Robertson County, Tennessee but moved back to Sumner County, Tennessee, the ancestral county of this Gregory family, as an adult. He recalled as a child hearing stories of the Bell Witch in Robertson County, Tennessee. Wesley grew up helping his dad do carpentry work and as an adult was a tobacco farmer. He and his family were members of the Church of Christ. He and his mom joined that fellowship when he was 13 and his dad remained a member of the Baptist Church.

PORTLAND, Tenn. - Services for Wesley Odell Gregory, 84, of Portland, a retired farmer, will be at 1 p.m. today at Wilkinson-Wiseman Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Old Brush Cemetery.
Gregory died Wednesday in Cottontown, Tenn.
Survivors omitted for privacy.
