Mrs. Pearl Poor, 86, of Mount Gayler, died 28 October 1988, in a Fayetteville nursing home. She was born 10 August 1902 at Mount Gayler, the daughter of John Alic and Eddie Arleva née Gaylor Johnston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Poor, on 7 July, 1967 [and daughter Vonne Carolyn née Poor Farmer]

Pearl was a Homemaker, a Baptist, and a lifetime resident of the area. Survivors include three sons: Verlin and Van Poor, both of Winslow, and Virgil Poor of Huntsville; three daughters, Violet, Vesta and Vera; two sisters, Florence and Myrtle. She had seventeen grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.

Service was 31 October at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial was in the National Cemetery.
