Paul, 84, died at home.
Mr. Campbell served six years in the US Navy during WWII; he was Bladen County’s Tax Supervisor for over twelve years and worked as an operator for Elwell Ferry for eight years. A retired farmer, Mr. Campbell was active in his church, the Volunteer Fire Department and community activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, T.B. and Anna Belle Campbell; a sister, Marie Davis, and three brothers, Neill C. Campbell, D.M. Campbell and T. Burke Campbell.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruby Hewett Campbell of the home; a daughter, Dianne C. Hatfield and husband Bruce of Hendersonville, NC; two sons, Rick Campbell of Council and Glenn Campbell and wife Rosalind of Elizabethtown; a brother, Dan W. Campbell of Ringgold, GA; and a sister, Patty C. Barron of Signal Mountain, TN; grandchildren, Alyson, MacKenzie and Cameron Hatfield of Hendersonville, NC, and Shane Wyke of Elizabethtown.
