Bobbie was born February 2, 1932 in San Saba County, Texas to Dick and Beulah Farris. On October 27, 1948 she married Jim W. Farris in Sherman County, Texas. He preceded her in death in November 2003. Bobbie's family and friends referred to her as "Nan." She loved her family and worked her entire life to provide for her children and grandchildren. She was a bookkeeper for many years at Coffey Tire & Brake and Western Auto in Dumas. Nan loved animals, especially small dogs. She was loved by many and will truly be missed by family and friends. She was a resident of Stratford from 1941 to 1976 when she moved to Dumas. Nan was a member of 14th and Meredith Church of Christ in Dumas.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Melton.
Survivors include; her son, Jim L. Farris; sister, Bonnie Cryer; 4 grandsons and their wives; and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Panhandle Chapter, 6222 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, TX 79109-6730 or to BSA Hospice, Olivia's Angels, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
