Mabel Cassidy, 94, of Mt. Lake Park died on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at her home.
Born on September 12, 1918 in Eglon, WV, she was the daughter of the late McCellan and Martha Ann (Waybright) Bennett. She had been a member of the Maple Springs Brethren Church, St. John's Lutheran Church, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Fresh Fire Church of God and the Garrett County Senior Citizens. She enjoyed crafts, quilting and traveling. She is survived by her children, Jerome "Hop" Cassidy and wife Judy of Oakland, Kenneth J. Cassidy and wife Jan of Franklin, VA, Jackie R. Cassidy and wife Brenda of Eglon, WV and Ricky G. Cassidy and wife Sandy of Oakland; a daughter in law, Barbara Cassidy; step-children, Jeanie Burns, Charles "Chuck" Cassidy, Sandy Hardy, Terri Wheland and Roger Cassidy; grandchildren, Craig and Dina Cassidy, Jeff and Cindy Cassidy, Wendy and Chris Block Tony Cassidy, Bruce and Penny Cassidy, Treasa and Scott Bittinger, Tammy and Lenard Parson, John and Sandy Cassidy, Karen and Mike Beitzel, JoEllen Delaney-Cassidy, Daniel and Connie Cassidy, Janice Childers and Mike and Terri Cassidy; twenty-seven great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Adie Slaubaugh and Annie Marcotti.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth W. Cassidy, Sr. to whom she was married in 1939 and her second husband, Adam Wesley Cassidy, to whom she was married in 1975; a son, David H. Cassidy; a step-daughter, Velma Jones; and brothers and sisters, Wesley Bennett, Henry Bennett, George Bennett, Leona Hanlin, Jenny Garrett, Mary Simmons, Meggie Pennington and Alta Slaubaugh.

Friends will be received at the Burdock-Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, April 12th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
A funeral service will be held in the Fresh Fire Church of God, 2148 George Washington Highway, Oakland on Saturday, April 13th at 11 AM with Pastors Tom and Sandy McGinnis officiating. Interment will follow in Eglon Cemetery, WV.
