Weyauwega - Emil Drews, 69, a retired carpenter and World War I veteran, died Monday night at Riverside Community Hospital, Waupaca, after an illness of one year.

A resident of the Town of Bloomfield, Waushara County for the past four years, Mr. Drews had lived on a farm in the Winneconne area before establishing residence in Waushara County.

He was born March 10, 1895 in Winchester and was married to Paula Kleist, Sept. 28, 1957 in Wisconsin Rapids. Mrs. Drews was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of East Bloomfield.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Walter Pietz and Mrs. Hugh Stanton, both of Wisconsin Rapids; four brothers, Elmer and Victor, Appleton, Harry, New London, and Fred, Larsen; three sisters, Mrs. Ernst Bork and Mrs. Walter Frick, Oshkosh, and Mrs. Clara Tews, Caledonia; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Bloomfield, the Rev. H. A. Scherf in charge. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Wisconsin Rapids.

Friends may call at Harrigan Funeral Home, Weyauwega, after 7 p.m. today and from 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by Giles-Luce American Legion Post of Winneconne."
