Appleton (WI) Post Crescent, Mar. 5, 1962, Page B-8, Col. 5: "Martin F. Drews, 602 Division St., Winneconne, Age 70, passed away at 4 p.m. Sunday. He was born July 9, 1891 in the Town of Winchester. He was married to Ella Tews, April 24, 1919 in Caledonia and farmed in the Town of Winneconne until 1934, then moved into the village and was farm manager for the Children's Country Home for 7 years. He was then employed by Winnebago County Highway Department, served as village Marshall and Bridge Tender for 8 years and was janitor of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church for 25 years. Mr. Drews is survived by his wife; Ella; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Marks, Rt. 5, Oshkosh; Mrs. George Berndt, Winneconne; one son, Arlen, Winneconne; five half-brothers, Emil, Fremont; Harry, New London; Victor and Elmer, Appleton; Fred, Larsen; three half-sisters; Mrs. Clara Tews, Fremont; Mrs. Frieda Frick and Mrs. Annie Bork, both of Oshkosh; 9 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Winneconne with Rev. Harvey Kahrs officiating. Burial in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Friends may call at the Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne Tuesday afternoon and evening and at the church after 11 a.m. Wednesday."
