Kenneth R. Fife, 78, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

He was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Lewisville, Idaho, the son of Aaron C. Fife and Jesse Juanita Miller. He grew up in Menan. In 1954, he graduated from Rigby High School, and then attended one year of college in Twin Falls. He moved to Utah for two years before settling in Idaho Falls.

On April 15, 1956, he married Blanche N. Scott in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were later divorced. On Nov. 8, 1963, he married JoAnn Neff and they raised their family. They were later divorced in the fall of 1987. On Dec. 10, 1988, he married Dorothy L. Beesley.

He worked as a custodian for school districts 91 and 93. He was working at Cloverdale Elementary School when he retired due to ill health.

Kenneth was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing and especially time spent with his family. Kenneth was a loving, quiet man; a man of simple means and few words. He was our gentle giant.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dorothy Fife, of Idaho Falls; daughters: Erin (Robert) Lish, of Blackfoot, Noreen (Cotton) Johnson, of Pennsville, NJ, and Latresse (Phillip) Butler, of Biloxi, MS; sons: Kenny Ray (Serena) Fife II, of Lyndon, UT, Craig (Robyn) Waddell, of Eagle, Bruce Waddell, of Idaho Falls, Scott Fife Scuderi, of SLC, UT, and Rodney Fife (Pam) Scuderi, of Sandy, UT; stepson, Steven (Pam) Hunter, of Idaho Falls; stepdaughter, Misty Johnson, of Pocatello; brothers, Du Wayne (Dina) Fife, of St. George, UT, Darwin (Marilyn) Fife, of Rigby, Roy (Helen) Fife, of Idaho Falls, Ronald (Sheila) Fife, of Parker, and Paul (Cheryl) Fife, of Idaho Falls; sisters, Karen (Tom) Jensen, of Rigby, and Glenda (Vern, deceased) Kidwell, of Idaho Falls; 30 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides his parents, Aaron and Jesse Fife, Kenneth was preceded in death by two sisters, Colleen Gneiting and Eldora Miller; and a brother, Aaron Fife.

Funeral services will be at noon Friday, April 12, at the Idaho Falls LDS 24th Ward, 1155 E. First St., with Bishop Kelly Frew officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., and Friday for one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will be in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
