WILSON C. RANES , son of William T. and Sarah Ranes was born in Putnam county, Missouri December 27, 1862, departed this life at the home of his daughter and son in law, Mr and Mrs Forrest Anders on West Main Street this city, April 21, 1936 at six A.M. He lived 73 years, 3 months, and 24 days . He was united in marriage with Miss Catherine Kelley on December 16, 1895 who preceded her husband in death on September 15, 1929.

Six children were born to their marriage all living, Mrs. Mamie Stover of Gilman, Iowa, Mrs Flossie Yount of this city. Earnest Ranes of Muscatine, la., Mrs. Dona Morgan of Clinton, Okla., Mrs. Mary Vestal of Cincinnati, la., and Mrs. Daisy Anders of this city. He is survived by his six children, 18 grand children, one brother, Jack Ranes, of Centerville, la , two sisters, Mrs Mary Schoonover of Pollock. Mo, and Anna Ranes of Lemons. Mo. In the year 1918, he obeyed the Gospel and united with the local Christian congregation and retalned his membership till called to cross over to the other side of the shadow we call death having lived his entire life in and around Unionville, Missouri. He was known by many friends that will miss him. He was kind, congenial and pleasant to meet, a devoted husband, a kind and loving father. He loved to lend a helping hand whenever he could do so. He enjoyed making others happy. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday, April 22 at 2:30, p. m. conducted by Reverends Noland and Gray, the body was laid to rest by the side of his wife in Unionville Cemetery. Wilson Ranes, a long time and well known citizen of this community, passed away Tuesday morning about six o'clock after an illness of several weeks. The funeral is being conducted this (Wednesday) afternoon by Rev. J. D. Noland in the Christian church at 2 o'clock. Mr. Ranes was 74 years old, and is survived by four daughters and one son, his wife having died. The obituary will be printed in a later issue.
