OPAL JONES

Opal Jones was born February 2, 1925 in Strang, Oklahoma to Nova D. and Rebecca P. (Wells) Johnson.

She departed this life on March 22, 2013 in Strang at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 12 days.

Opal was born and raised in the Strang area, and graduated from the Strang High School. She married Frank H. Jones on October 18, 1952 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She and Frank made their home in Tulsa and she was employed as a bookkeeper for Flint Steel. Opal and Frank moved back to Strang and enjoyed their retirement years raising Polled Herford Cattle.

Frank preceded her in death on September 12, 2011.

Opal had been Baptized in the 38th Street Church of Christ in Pratville, and she had been a member of the Church of Christ in Spavinaw for many years. She enjoyed restoring and refinishing antiques, anything from furniture to cars and tractors. She was an animal lover, and enjoyed caring for her own pets. Family times were some of the best times for her, especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Opal is survived by her Son, Joe C. Gooch and wife Claudia of Claremore; Step-Daughter, Ann Harrison and husband Bob of Junction City, Oregon; 2 Grandchildren, Jecille Hall and husband John and Trisha Weilert and husband Rob. 5 Great Grand Children, 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her Sister, Irene Mardis of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Frank; her brother, Willie Johnson and Sister Nola Reep.
