Frank Hubert Jones was born February 21, 1920 in Big Cabin, OK to parents Abby and Alice (Hazelwood) Jones. He was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. A veteran of the Armed Forces, he honorably served his country in the Air Force during WWII. On Oct. 18, 1952 he married Opal N. Johnson. This special day was also the 9th birthday of his new stepson which marked the beginning of a father-son bond few ever know! Frank spent most of his life as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines and North American Rockwell in Tulsa. He also enjoyed his life on the farm where he and Opal raised prized Hereford cattle and tended hay fields.

Frank passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the home of his son in Claremore. He was 91 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, and 1 sister. Those loving family members who survive him are Opal, his loving wife of 59 years of Strang; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Claudia Gooch of Claremore; daughter and son-in-law, Annie and Bob Harrison of Eugene, OR; brother, Walter Jones and sister, Doris Fisher, both of Sand Springs; grandchildren, Jecille and John Hall of Adair, Trish and Rob Weilert of Claremore, Kelley and Dan Brouwer and Krista Jones all of Oregon; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-7 pm Thursday at Add'Vantage Funeral Service, 9761 E 31st St, Tulsa and 10:30 a.m. Friday preceding the funeral service which will be 1 pm at the Locust Grove Church of Christ. Burial will take place in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Gary Kelley's Add'Vantage Funeral Service.
