Canton -- Funeral services for James Alexander Doerfler, 49, were Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal.

He died Saturday, April 15, of injuries from an automobile accident.

He was born Dec. 20, 1939 at Hays to Alex J. and Pauline (Lang) Doerfler.

He was married to Frances Wingert.

He was employed by Jayhawk Pipeline Company for 20 years, working two years at Liberal, 17 at Sublette, and one year
at Canton s office and area manager. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Liberal Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Barden City Moose Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Lynn Doerfler of Garden City, Lisa Rena Doerfler of Holcomb; his mother, Pauline of Liberal; six sisters, Betty Lash and Jerry Hudspeth, both of Liberal, Diana Flores and Debbie Brooks, both of Salina, Lily Pointer of Centralia, Mo., Becky Doerfler of Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father on April 19, 1981, and his brother, Thomas Doerfler in 1958.
