Alfred Cantley, 97, of Rt. 5 Charleston, died Saturday in his home after a long illness.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Elk Valley Advent Christian Church.

Surviving: sons, E. O. Cantley of Rt. 5, L. C. Cantley of Big Chimney, Clarence Cantley of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Mrs. Ethel C. Hood of Ridgeview; brothers, James Cantley and Cornelius Cantley both of Foster; sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Mae McKinney of Foster, Mrs. Eiza Jane Coyle of Palmetto, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hafer Funeral Home in Elkview with the Rev. Dennie R. Schoolcraft officiating. Burial will be in the Cantley Family Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
