Mrs. Ida May Burke died at the Oshkosh Community hospital Friday, April 4, after being hospitalized for a short time. Her passing came as a shock to her many friends as few had realized her condition had become serious.

Ida May Hill, daughter of Albert and Olive Hill, was born at Cabell, W. Virginia, September 6, 1887. When but a young girl she was united in marriage to Alfred Cantley and to this union two children were born, a daughter Ethel and a son, Clarence.

In the year 1910 she was united in marriage to Stanley Burke. To this union six daughters and three sons were born. They moved from West Virginia to the ranch country in this county in 1918 and there her husband died in 1928. With great courage and determination she continued to live on the ranch with her family until 1948 at which time she moved into Oshkosh and here she has continued to reside.

After coming to Oshkosh she became a member of the Pilgrim Holiness church and she was appreciated in her associations in that denomination. She was a devoted mother to her children and a good neighbor to her friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing Clarence Cantley of Anchorage, Alaska; Ethel Hood of Ridgeway, W. Virginia; Olive Ludlow, Livermore, California; Sarah Cook and Stanley Burke, Sweet Home, Oregon; Ruby Rhoades, Scottsbluff; William H. Burke, Casper, Wyoming; Patricia Steele and Ida May Woodworth, Midwest, Wyoming; Shirley Richards, Oshkosh; George Burke, Mills, Wyoming. There is also one step son, Guthrie. Besides these she leaves nine brothers and sisters, 30 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, and her many friends in this community.
