Charles Cooper was the son of Ulysses Stacey and Junietta Bolinger Cooper.

Charles Cooper, 82, died at 11:45 PM Monday, Oct. 6, 1975, at Turtle Creek Convalescent Centre where he had been a patient one month. He previously lived at Pythian Home for a year. Born in Logansport and reared there, he had lived in Lafayette for 57 years. In 1916 he was married at Logansport to Emma J. Rice, who died in 1970.

Mr. Cooper was a machinist for the Monon Railroad for 41 years, retiring in 1963. He previously had worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad in Logansport. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Brotherhood of Railroad Employees and was a life member of the Aerospace Engineers and Machinists.

Surviving are two sons, Jack E. Cooper of Lafayette and Robert D. Cooper of Brookston; two daughters, Tenah (Mrs. Donald) Morgeau of Seattle, WA, and Mary Ann (Mrs. Max) Warren of Lafayette; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Mitty of Buena Park, CA, and Mrs. Elwood Ranke of Logansport; 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sons, Bernard Charles Cooper and Keith Edwin Cooper. Service Oct. 9 at Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Henry C. Stolldorf officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
