Frances Pentico

Frances Olive (Harrison) Pentico, daughter of Norman and Martha Kipp, was born January 26, 1889 in Broughton, Ks. She died May 29, 1983 at the Clay Center Medicalodge at the age of 94 years. Althought she had been in ill health for sometime she was able to enjoy having her friends and relatives visit her.

Until her health failed her she was able to attend her fellowship at the Assembly of God church in Manhattan, Ks., where she was a member for 28 years.

During her illness she received care from her daughter, Vera King, of Clay Center, with whom she made her home and took care of her for the last 13 years before her illness took her life.

Frances was married June 8, 1905 to Charles H. Harrison and he preceded her in death March 21, 1955. To this union were born 11 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Pentico; two daughters, Gertude Russell and Ruth Nelson, and a son, Leo Harrison.

The survivors are two sons, Alvin Harrison, and wife Ellen of Bakersfield, Ca., and Donald Harrison, and wife Etta of Clay Center; six daughters, Vera King, June Brughelli, Norma Archuletta and Miona Johnson, all of Clay Center, and Florence Zentz and husband Raymond of Manhattan and Margarette Mildfeldt of Topeka; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Evelyn Harrison of Clay Center; 77 grandchildren and a host of great and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Lucy Grovenberg of Wamego and Erma Benteman of Marysville; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were conducted at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Anthony Beningas officating.

Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were all grandsons, Alvin Zentz, Jerry Dishman, Alvin Fecteau, Cecil Harrison, Marvin Zentz and Virgil Harrison.



Frances Olive is my grandmother.
She is the daughter of Norman Edward Washburn and Martha Adiela (Schoonover) Kipp.
She was married 1st to Charles Henry Harrison and had 11 children. She is buried next to him.
She married 2nd to Irvin Pentico.
