Mrs. Hazel Mae Coan, 71, Chesterton, IN., a former resident of Georgetown, died 16 Sep 1978 at her home. Born 7 May 1907 in Georgetown, she was the daughter of Tilman and Etta (Ross) Williams.
She was married Jan. 5, 1924 to John Coan, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jane Ballatore of LaPorte, IN, Mrs Ola Mae Simpson, and Mrs. Louise Hunt, both of Chesterton; three sons, James of Lancaster, CA., Lindy of Chesterton & Charles in TX.; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Baker & Mrs. Myrtle Knight, both of Georgetown; a brother, Logan Williams of Ridge Farm; and several grandchildren. Services at Carl Edmonds Funeral Home, Chesterton, IN., and burial in Chesterton Cemetery.
