Born on July 24, 1918 in Rockbridge County she was a daughter of the late John William and Easter Coffey Conner Calp.
She worked as a nurses aide at the old C & O Hospital and was a member of the Selma Epworth United Methodist Church where she held many offices.
She is survived by one daughter, Velma Musser and husband, Thomas of Greensboro, NC.; one son, Wetzel E. Nicely of Selma; four sisters, Betty Smith of Roanoke, Bessie Mae Hays and Helen Ayers , both of Lexington and Anna Conner of Selma; one grandson, Travis Musser; of Greensboro, NC and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Edgar Nicely; one daughter, Alyson Sue Nicely; one son, Clayton Lee Nicely; four brothers, William, James, John and Clayton Conner.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 22, 2006 at 7:00 P.M. at the Selma Epworth United Methodist Church with Rev. Clyde Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be private in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Selma Epworth United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 190, Selma, VA 24474.
