Graveside service for J. Archie Morice, 78, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Fairmount Memorial Park with ball & Dodd Funeral Home--South in charge.
Memorial service will follow at 3:30 p.m. today at Manito United Methodist Church, S3220 Grand Blvd., where he is a member.
Mr. Morice died Monday at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Wash., while on a trip to the coast.
Born in Naples, Idaho, he graduated from Sandpoint High School and attended the University of Idaho fro one year.
Mr. Morice came to Spokane in 1934 and had worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. and then owned and operated a variety store at Hillyard for two years. After selling the store, he joined the Washington State Employment Security Department and during his 33 years with the department had also worked with the Job Corps. He retired in 1974.
He served two terms as president of the Inland Empire Goodwill Industries and most recently was president of the Spokane Gladioli Society.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Flora (Watkins) Morice; one daughter, Lynn Stejskal of Pendleton, Ore.; one son, Jack Morice of Bellevue, Wash.; six sisters, including Violet Best of Spokane and Annabelle Finley of Kettle Falls, Wash.; two brothers, Mathew Morice of Moses Lake and Don Morice of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; and five grandchildren.
