Turbeville- Reverend William Claudie Osborne went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was born on February 27, 1927 in Turbeville to the late W. H. "Buddy" and Clarica Dennis Osborne. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Powers Osborne; son, Richard (Rich) Osborne; siblings, Lois Osborne, Thomas Joel Osborne, Charlie Osborne, Linnie Jane (Totsie) Bryant and Ivan Dennis Osborne. He was a graduate of Turbeville High School and attended Bob Jones College now Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC. He served in the US Army during WWII in Panama. He served as Assistant Superintendent of the Freewill Baptist Conference Pentecostal Faith under four different superintendents and also served as Missions Director and Secretary.

He pastored churches in North and South Carolina and retired from Waters Powell Funeral Home in Florence in 1992.

He is survived by his wife; H. Alene Osborne of the home; one daughter Anne (Herbert) Gardner of Florence; four grandchildren, Brad (Elisa) Gardner, Jennifer Gardner of Florence, Victoria, Connor Osborne, and their mother, Marianne of Portsmouth, Ohio. Three great grandchildren, Brittaney and Dylan Truslow and Gavin Gardner of Florence. Two step-children, Greg (Lisa) Davis of Delco, NC, Teresa (Burl) Godwin of Florence and their families. Five siblings; Daisy Bell Polson of Sumter, Elsie Speer of Greenwood, Nancy Carraway of Sumter, brothers Hugh Osborne and Addison Leroy Osborne of Sumter. Also two special people, Jeanette Frierson of Olanta and Cheryl McKenzie of Rock Hill.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Lane Wilner and his staff for the excellent care for many years given to Rev. Osborne.

Services will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 with visitation at 1pm followed by funeral at 3pm at Dennis Memorial Auditorium Freewill Baptist PF Campground, Pudding Swamp Road, Turbeville. Burial will follow at Olive Grove Church Cemetery, Turbeville.
