Teckla Carlson, 96
Funeral services for Teckla Carlson, 96, Des Moines were held in St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge Saturday, Aug. 27. Rev. Dr. Palmer B. Wold conducted the 10:00 a.m. service. Interment was held in the Vinge Cemetery near Gowrie.
Mrs. Carlson passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 23, at Karen Acres Nursing Home in Des Moines.
During the service organ selections were presented by Mrs. Darwin Wing. Bearers were Scott Stearns, Brion Stearns, Gregg Stearns, Wayne Mason, Marc Mason and Keith Huffman.
Teckla S. Larson was born on September 18, 1886 at Stratford. She was the daughter of Charles and Charlotte (Tidlund) Larson. She married Willie C. Carlson in 1905 at Stratford. The couple farmed north of Fort Dodge following their marriage. Mr. Carlson passed away in 1931, and Mrs. Carlson moved into Fort Dodge. She lived in her own home with her daughter, Mrs. Stearns in Des Moines, and later moved into the nursing home.
Survivors include daughters, Mrs. Claude (Laurell) Prime, Humboldt; Gertrude Carlson, Fort Dodge; Mrs. Emerson (Carol) Cahill, Prescott, Ariz.; Mrs. M. W. Bill (Helen) Stearns, Des Moines; Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) Keenan, Los Alamos, NM; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Oscar Larson, Fort Dodge.
