Funeral rites today for district man, 104
Funeral services were to be held today (Thursday! for Terry George Challand who died Monday at the age of 104 in the Rimbey Auxiliary Hospital.
Mr. Challand lived in Rimbey and the Leedale district for 70 'years

Born in Rolfe, Iowa,1 Feb. 3, 1873, he first moved to central Alberta to the Lacombe district in 1905 where he worked for two years. He returned to the United States in 1907 to marry Loucinda Archer and the couple returned to central Alberta the same year where they farmed in the Leedale district.
Mr. Challand retired from farming in 1950 and moved to Rimbey. He moved into the Rimbey Auxiliary Hospital in 1969. Predeceased by his wife in 1945, three brothers and two sisters, he is survived by a brother, Claude, of Rimbey and a number of nieces . and nephews. Funeral services were to be held from Rimbey Nazarene Church with Alder Michael Cahoon and Rev. R. T. Sellick of Rimbey officiating. Burial was to follow in the Rimbey Mount Auburn Cemetery. Oberhammer Funeral Homes of Rimbey and Lacombe in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Terry George Challand, a long-time resident of Rimbey, passed away In the Rimbey Auxiliary Hospital on Nov. 21, 1977 at the age of 104 years. He Is survived by a brother Claude of Rimbey, and a' number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Thurs., Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m. from the Rimbey Nazarene Church with Elder Michael Cahoon and Rev. R. T. Sellick of Rimbey officiating. Interment will follow In the Mount Auburn Cemetery. Oberhammer Funeral Homes of Rimbey and Lacombe entrusted with the arrangements.
