Rhoda Walker was born in Tydd-St.Mary, Lincolnshire, England in 1798, to Joseph Walker and Mary Greenwood.
She was christened on 26 April, 1798 at Tydd-St. Mary.
She married John Leader, son of Thomas Leader and Sarah Reid, on 25 January, 1818 at St Mary's, Long Sutton, Lincolnshire, England.
Rhoda and John were the parents of 7 children born in Long Sutton: Joseph Walker, John Thomas, Rhoda Walker, Mary Anne, Martha Elizabeth, Lucy Jane and Lucy Ann.
Lucy Jane died at age 2, Mary Anne died at age 5, and were buried at St Mary's Cemetery in Long Sutton.
In 1834, the family departed London on the Brig Meridian, arriving in New York on 13 October, 1834.
From New York, the family moved on into Ontario, settling in Blenheim, Oxford. There Rhoda and John's 8th and 9th children, Mary Jane and William Walker Leader were born.
There they lived by farming.
John Leader died on 22 March, 1859 and was buried at Washington Cemetery. He is between his daughter Martha
Elizabeth and son John Thomas Leader.
After John's death, Rhoda went to live with son William and his family. She is listed on the 1861 census for Blenheim, Oxford, living with William, his family and her granddaughter Lucy Gofton, age 8.
