She was baptized on 2 March, 1832, St Mary, Long Sutton, Lincoln, England.
Along with her parents and 5 brothers and sisters, she immigrated from England to New York, arriving on 13 October, 1834, on the Brig Meridian.
On 6 December, 1847, at age 15, Lucy married Roger Gofton. The marriage was performed by the Rev Mathew Whiting, Wesleyan Methodist Clergyman, and witnessed by Hamish Everitt and Lucy's brother Joseph Leader.
She is listed on the 1851 Canadian census as Lucy Ann Gofton, born in England, living in Blenheim, Oxford, Canada West, wife of Rodge Gofton.
Lucy and Roger were the parents of Rhoda Elizabeth, Charlotte, Nancy Agnes and Lucy Ann Gofton.
Lucy's father John Leader wrote his will on 10 October, 1855. In it he includes all of his children, with the exception of Martha Elizabeth (deceased in 1837) and Lucy Ann.
Lucy and Roger's youngest daughter Lucy Ann Gofton was born 8 June, 1855. She is also the only child born to them who wasn't baptized.
It would appear that Lucy Ann Leader Gofton died shortly after giving birth to daughter Lucy Ann.
Roger is shown in the 1861 Canadian census, Blenheim, Oxford, Ontario, was being a widower, living with daughters Rhoda, Nancy and Lucy Ann.
Lucy doesn't have a headstone.
