Jacob S. Pote, of Bloomfield township, died suddenly on October 9. He was a son of Michael B. Pote and was born in Bloomfield township about 40 years ago. He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Appleman, daughter of Samuel Appleman, of near Potetown. His wife and three small children survive him. He is also survived by two brothers and one sister--Michael S. Pote and Mrs. Samuel Smith, of Potetown, and William Pote, of Altoona. Mr. Pote conducted a general merchandise store and a blacksmith shop for many years. The funeral services were held on the Sunday following his death in the Holsinger church and were conducted by Rev. John S. Holsinger.
