MARY ELIZABETH RAY

Died at the home of her son, George Ray of Roaring Spring, R.D., at 5.45 o'clock this morning. She was born Dec. 25, 1874, at Bakers Summit, a daughter of Samuel and Leah (Wentz) Appleman. She was twice married, first to Jacob S. Pote and then to Samuel T. Ray, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Ray was a member of the American Legion auxiliary. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Alice Helsel and Mrs. Elsie Smith of Roaring Spring, R.D., George, at whose home she died; Mrs. Alma McGee and Charles Ray of Roaring Spring; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ray was a member of the Barley Lutheran church. Friends will be received at the home of Plummer Helsel at Roaring Spring, R.D., after 7 o'clock this evening.

RAY--Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ray of Martinsburg, R.D., will be held Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock at the Holsinger Church of the Brethren in charge of Rev. D.L. Shaffer. Interment will follow in the Holsinger cemetery.
