Mary E. Morris, 79, of 438 Oakview Heights died Friday afternoon. She was stricken at home and rushed to Bridgeton Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Although she had been in failing health the past six months her death was unexpected.
Born in Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Lola Durham and the wife of the late William Morris. She had resided at her present address the past six years. Mrs. Morris was formerly employed at Bridgeton Hospital for 19 years and the Cumberland County Hospital for 10 years and was a member of the St. John's Methodist Church, Fordville Road.
She is survived by a son Harvey Bordley of Fairton; two brothers, Clement Durham of California and Elmer Durham of Woodbury; six sisters, Eliza Mosley of Bridgeton, Rachel Durham, Henrietta Cuff, Dorothy Orm, all of Pennsauken, Alice Thompson of Maple Shade, and Sarah Reed of Sicklerville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Purnell Moody from St. John's Church, Tuesday at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in Fordville Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening after 7 at the church. Arrangements were made under the direction of the Russell C. Sheppard Funeral Home, 40 East Ave.

Johnson and the Rev. Ridgeway from St. John's United Methodist Church. Solos were sung by Ronda Carney, "One Day at a Time," and Minous Carney, ‘What A Day That Will Be." Mrs. Lillian Pierce read the resolution from St. John's United Methodist Church.
Relatives serving as pallbearers were: Douglas Johnson, Earl Pierce, Alonzo Boardley, Nathan Boardley, Donald Fisher and Carl Durham. Interment was made in Fordville Cemetery.
