Jane Elder was born in Scotland March 1845 and was the daughter of John and Margaret Elder. Jane married John Wright December 22, 1863 in Minto Township, Clifford, Ontario. They had 6 children: James, William, Margaret,
Christina, John and Mary. They moved to Casselton and lived on Langer Avenue for many years.
They donated part of their land for the Casselton Cemetery to the east of their house.
