J. A. Wright, 92, Molalla resident for many years, died in the Molalla nursing home Tuesday morning following an extended illness.

Wright was born in Canada on April 5, 1869 and came to the United States at an early age. He has lived in Oregon for the last 40 years, two years at Salem and the last 38 years in Molalla. He formerly owned the theater at Molalla and formerly operated a pool hall and tavern. He had been retired for the last 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 178 Molalla.

Survivors include his widow, the former Ida Mae Herman, whom he married in Oregon City on April 11, 1922; one son, Myron E. Wright, Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Mr. A.J. (Mary) Manners, Casselton, N.D.: one step-daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Glutsch, Yreka, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5 at the Molalla chapel of Everhart and Kent in charge of arrangements. Rev. John Brockmueller will officiate and internment will follow in the City View Cemetery at Salem.
