Christine Mathilda Nilsen was born on 9 March 1867 to Nils Frederick Olsen (1825-1882) and Pernille Pedersdtr Olsen (1823-1905) in Rana, Nordland, Norway. Their family immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1880s. She married Peter Christian Greenfield (1860-1943) on 31 May 1889 in Kandiyohi county, MN. They had three children. Christine died on 23 February 1951 in Willmar, MN at the age of 83.
